Description

An original very 1st press of HOTH on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A2/B2 - very 1st cut. Stamped 'RL Sterling'. Please note the labels are absolutely consistent with 1st press. All perimeter text stays within the southern sector - and there's no sign of the WB logo. Note that these early copies are very nice and heavy pressed unlike copies just a matter of months later. The vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold with the original textured inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few very superficial marks per side, and one semi-feelable tiny mark - see below for details. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. There's some great audio rolling off of this copy. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And this is really important on HOTH as there are two or three very low-key tracks. And they are RAIN & NO QTR..and I'm pleased to report, on this copy, they play cleaner than you typically find. They are not perfect but they, by and large, play nice and clean with only occasional low-level static crackles. The only deviation is a couple of clicks midway through 'No QTR' - very brief.  Overall a very sweet playing 1st press.
Cover (Ex-) Difficult to find one that has steered clear of the usual surface wear. This example looks much better than you typically find - very little wear at all on the front and back surfaces. There's just one slight nick to the font cover up in the top left corner [against the spine edge...it actually blends in very well with the cover image]. There's also a couple of pin-holes in the extreme bottom right corner -- and on the rear in the same spot too. The interior is immaculate - no issues. Edge wear is very slight for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in excellent order and overall the cover retains tremendous rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Slight ageing in places and a couple of blemishes. Just one 1c.m. side split. But otherwise aok.
