Description

An original 1st press of Animals on the Harvest label. Matrix 2/2 - the earliest possible cut. Stampers 1-AP/3-PO. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original wide spine gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Also included is the original inner sleeve too. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Let me tell you - don't cut corners with Pink Floyd..Go for the best copy you can. A clean copy is an absolute must for Floyd - otherwise you will be left disappointed! Thankfully, this is one of the best preserved true 1st presses I've had the pleasure to audition. The audio on these early copies is nothing short of amazing. It certainly leaves you thinking 'I wonder what the hell this would sound like on CD?' ha!! As I mentioned above this is a very well preserved low-mileage copy. Interference is, thankfully, practically non-existent. The only moment I can detect anything at all is in the opening salvo of Sheep on side 2. And this is only very minor light static, and brief in nature. A truly superb rendition and one that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.
Cover (Ex) Absolutely renowned for being a pain in the derriere to find in great condition. This example, however, acquits itself admirably. Lovely clean front with only super low-level handling. The rear, again, low-level - just a trace over toward the spine. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Edge wear is light and even on the spine the text is still fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. A lovely example by any standard.
Inner (Ex) No issues at all. No splits. Great condition.
