Description
LONDON 9641. STONED/ I WANNA BE YOUR MAN. The rarest and most valuable Rolling Stones 45 in the world. This was scheduled for release in March of 1964. Promo copies with black and white labels were sent out. Word quickly got back to London Records that there was no chance it would get any airplay. Lyrics like "Stoned - Outa Mah Mind..." did not fly in 1964. The release was quickly canceled but not before some purple and white labeled stock copies were pressed. Most were destroyed but a few got out and this is one of them. There has only been one sale of a stock copy of London 9641 on Ebay and that was about 10 years ago. Most people reading this will not see another one available for sale.
CONDITION : A visual grade of this 45 is a clean VG. There are light hairline marks. Nothing ugly or dramatic, just light, general surface wear. A play grade is always in the VG++ to NM range with minimal surface noise. Both sides play cleanly from beginning to end. A sound clip of both sides in their entirety has been provided. There had been something rubber-stamped on the B-side. It is mostly only visible in the oval on the right side.
ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: Th full value of this record will be declared on the customs slip. No exceptions.
