SONNY CLARK "SONNY'S CRIB" LP - On Blue Note Records, #1576.  Scarce vintage jazz Lp from 1957.  MONO pressing with the classic Blue & White labels and the 47 WEST 63RD NEW YORK 23 address on the labels.  The label is Deep Groove on both sides with the "ear" and "RVG" stamp in the trail-off on both sides.  Matrix number is hand-etched on both sides.  Thick vinyl, thick cardboard cover.  The personnel:  Donald Byrd/trumpet; Curtis Fuller/trombone; John Coltrane/tenor sax; Sonny Clark/piano; Paul Chambers/bass; Art Taylor/drums.  The vinyl is in VG+ condition:  brilliant sheen & mostly clean but with just a couple scratches which may tick softly behind the loud production of the music, but don't affect play to any serious degree (no jumps or skips).  Disc plays great otherwise.  The thick cardboard cover is in VG+ to VG++ shape and displays nicely.  Has some very minor surface wear on reverse, a minor 3/4" seam split at bottom right corner (by opening edge), slight traces of wear showing on front white portions.  Also has small "sample" in red wax pen on reverse (could be removed easily).  There are NO cut-out marks, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking.  There is some very minor wear on a couple of corner tips.  Address on back cover is 47 West 63rd St., New York 23.  The songs are:  With A Song In My Heart; Speak Low; Come Rain Or Come Shine; Sonny's Crib; News For Lulu.

As mentioned above, there are two areas with audible scratches. The first is a small one (less than 1/2 inch). It's on track one (side one) for about the first third of the song. The second scratch is a longer one (about 1 1/2 inch). It's on track one (side two) for the middle bulk of the song. Neither of these marks affect play to any serious degree (no jumps or skips). The mostly loud production of the music allows for any resultant tick sounds to be obscured or absorbed into the background; they are more noticeable during the softer interludes, but still not so loud as to ruin the listening enjoyment of the music, IMO.
