Description

An original very 1st mono press of this title on the UK Parlophone label from Xmas-1966. Matrix 1G/1G. Please note how the publishing credits are all found on the left hand side of the labels - this is indictaive of 1st pressing. Also note that pressing weight was quite variable for this 'hits' title. I can find some where Emi have gone a bit 'cheap' and they're a bit flimsy. BUT I'm pleased to report that this copy is much sturdier than most copies you can find - go heavy! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L flipback  cover. Also included is an original 'patents applied for' - 1966 inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Will ship in a poly-lined inner sleeve for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) A lovely looking copy which has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations. A super rendition of these Beatles classic tracks. Not much to find fault with in reality it's a pretty clean player. 'Michele' plays with some static in places [non-invasive], as does 'Yesterday' - this is almost impossible to avoid entirely. So, overall a very nicely preserved early copy which will thoroughly impress.
Cover (Vg+) A very nice looking front cover shiny with very little creasing and just a touch of ageing. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the usual ageing you tend to find - just light handling noticeable here and there. Edge wear is slight and the spine in excellent order with text 90% legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. One side has split partially - it has been taped up.
