Description

An original 2nd press of BFS on the UK Parlophone label from 1964. Matrix 3N/4N. Stampers 2-OO/3-OA. Please note the labels mention '1st published' , and 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text. Whilst not the 1st pressing this copy comes hot on the heels of the original 1st copies from 1964. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Anyone familiar with these early 60's copies will be aware that once these Lps have seen a moderate level of use the audio just starts to lose a bit of that original immediacy and vibrancy. But this example has been looked after and has only seen light use on decent equipment. The audio quality retained on this copy exhibits all that original vibrancy and clarity. This is precisely what any serious collector/enthusiast is looking for. A lot of the tracks on BFS are quite low-key so anything with a bit of interference is going to start invading the listening experience. I'm pleased to report this example is very nice and clean and and devoid of noticeable interference. Expect nothing more than a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots. Very nice - very impressive. 
Cover (Ex) Again, anyone familiar with this title will be aware of how difficult it is to find a really sweet looking cover. The way they were designed made damage and wear very very likely. This particular example, thankfully, has been looked after by one fastidious owner. That front cover is shiny like new and very nice and flat. All I can make out are two minuscule creases and no laminate lift, or surface wear. The rear is equally impressive and looks flat with a great sheen. No noticeable ring wear as you often find or creasing. The corners are all neat with no tearing or grubbiness. And here's something that's quite unusual..the spine is 100% intact. And I'll qualify this.. it is fully intact with pinched ends and perfectly at right angles [i.e. it has not distorted as many copies tend to do]. The interior looks good to with no issues. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and particularly in that front opening panel [which is so hard to find]. Very very nice!
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. Bit no splits or writing.
