Description

An original 1966 2nd press of RS on UK Parlophone. Matrix 4/4. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono flipback cover printed EJDay. We also have the original Emitex inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Ex) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. There are a few superficial marks - which are not worrisome at all. There is, however, a visible mark/scuff over tracks 5 & 6 on side 1. It is just about feelable - but thankfully doesn't really seem to cause much problem at all [see detail]. But you will need to be someone prepared to accept this - visually. Anyone who is going to freak out at a mark like that - clearly this record is not for you. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Whilst this Lp does exhibit this visible scuff/mark it does ACTUALLY manage to do the one thing that many original copies fail on - it plays clean. Into those fussier low-key numbers RS often exhibits background on what looks like a decent copy. Bag this copy and you will get some unfettered Mono from '66 - consistently. The only thing I could detect re that mark toward the end of side 1 was one pop before the track 'WORD' starts. And possibly a couple of minor ticks mixed in during that final third of side 1. So, in reality - precious little that actually affects in-track audio. Even Michelle plays clean which always a total pain to try and find. Overall a super '66 player for audio. Just make sure you can handle that visible mark at the end of side 1...that's all.
Cover (Vg+)  A really clean and flat front with just a couple of creases. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process, but there is a little handling dirt in places. Flipbacks are all intact and secure so the rear is still looking pretty tidy. Edge wear is minor and the opening is firm. The spine is 99% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Emitex (Vg+) Very nice. Minor ageing. No splits. Bag present.
