Description

An original 1st press of LIB on UK Decca from 1969. Matrix 1W/3W - 1st cut available. Note how the labels still exhibit an inverted tape number - these are the very 1st unboxed copies to go out! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original printed in England cover. Make sure you get yourself a proper 1st. They should have a peep-hole on the rear and should have the poster sticker on - that's confirmation of 1st. "But this one doesn't" - I hear you say! But it does have the rectangular sticker residue of the original sticker in the bottom left - so it used to have one [sounds crazy - but this does help to prove authenticity]. This copy does NOT have the original bespoke LIB inner sleeve. We do have an original Decca inner from the time - but please note it is NOT the bespoke LIB inner. NO poster either. This copy should be of interest to someone insistent on absolute 1st press and the best possible audible audio on offer.<<<<<
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Don't under estimate a grading at that level. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Many many copies will look good - but very few actually play at this top level - throughout. Remember, there are a few very fussy tracks on this title. Think Silver and 'Love In Vain' - these tracks will trip up all but the very best out there. But this example can deliver these numbers CLEAN - impressively so. When you hear these two play clean - they really are a revelation! I could only pick out a few very brief crackles in one isolated moment per side. Copies this well preserved are very few and far between. Don't take a gamble on a dud. This is one of the best Stones titles - you really need to insist only on the best possible preservation. Anything else and you are only going to short change yourself. Intro to YCAGWYW - clean as a whistle. An absolute belter of a copy - you would spend some considerable time just trying to equal it. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and many of these true 1st covers are often looking a bit tired by this point in time. Lovely clean front with a bit of creasing in the top right quadrant. Bit of left over sticker residue evident in the correct area bottom left. The rear exhibits a bit of ageing and handling - but looking much better than many examples. Just some light edge wear in places. The spine is about average with minimal wear, but a few stress creases. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and no splits. Remember - this inner is original to the time of release. But it is not the original/bespoke LIB inner
