Description

An original 1st press of WN on the UK Track label. Matrix 2/1 - 1st cut. Etching "MG12888" - this signifies 1st pressing. But also make sure you're buying a flat [non-ridged] label - that is matt [not shiny]. If you can tick all those boxes - you have a 1st. Worth going for the 1st copies - they were pressed heavy and sound absolutely fabulous. The vinyl comes housed in an original thick-card MacNeill cover with pinched spine. We also have an original Headhunters inner sleeve from the time. I appreciate that the Headhunter inners weren't available with the earliest copies - but hey it's from the same period. And lets be frank - it looks way cooler than a blank generic one! So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. There are a couple of very light marks per side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Many 1st copies will look good, but slip on some of those quieter moments. But this example is playing clean into all those slow build moments. That's precisely what you need to be looking for. The intros to Baba and Getting in Tune are playing clean - which is unusual. By and large a really great little player and there's little to find fault with. Perhaps just a few crackles in one brief moment per side. I did detect one solitary tick midway through 'Song Is Over'. A super 1st copy - lovin' it!
Cover (Vg+) In very decent condition with just light handling observable on the front. The rear usually looks awful - but this example only exhibits very light handling. There's just a touch of edge wear in places - but it looks very nicely preserved with sharp openings. Someone may have inked a couple of spots on the spine to touch it up. Overall it looks really nice for the vintage. All the text is still fully legible. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) No much ageing visible. One blemish each side. Bag still present. No splits.
