Description

An original 1st press of WN on the UK TRACK label from 1971. Matrix 2/1 - 1st cut. Etching "MG12888" - indicative of 1st press. Careful with the label design on this release. 1st pressings must exhibit flat matt labels - with no ridging [as this example does]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill cover with pinched spine. We also have an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve from this period too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In really nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Not quite clean enough to hit the top grade, but a very impressive player and it plays clean for the most part. We're detecting a bit of static [as is common] in the opening intro to side 1 & 2. This is fairly standard for this title and difficult to avoid entirely. As soon as the tracks kick in for real - no issues.. they play clean. When on song this copy delivers these tracks with precision and aplomb. Gotta love this album! Expect a touch of light static in a couple of isolated spots per side. Other than that - expect a very appealing and enjoyable rendition.
Cover (Vg+) Very very difficult to find the original 1st issue covers up around the Ex grading. They just weren't designed to protect against wear - the rear is often a source of considerable problems..as are the edges. But this specimen has survived the passage of time in rather fine condition. The front is in good clean condition without much sign of handling. The rear exhibits a bit of light handling surface evidence - better than most look like though. There's a bit of edge wear in places, but the openings are still sharpish. The spine is above average with wear - but the text is still pretty much all legible. Overall the cover retains verygood rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
