Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on UK Parlophone from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G. Please note the publishing credits are all found on the left side of the labels [as you find only find at 1st issue]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover. We have the original and correct back and white EMI advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In really nice condition and has only seen relatively light  use. I could make out a few marks per side, one light trail mark - most are pretty minor with one or two just getting semi-feelable. One or two will sound very briefly - see detail. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. All I could detect were a couple of minor ticks in HELP - very minor in deed. Michelle [the super fussy track] plays pretty well with the odd crackle here and there. A mark in the 2nd half of Yesterday does cause a couple of ticks and a couple of crackles in a couple of spots. But for a fussy track - pretty good I'd argue. The other fussy tracks are Submarine & Rigby - which both play back absolutely superb. Overall this is a cracking little player which only dips below the Ex grading very briefly in a couple of spots. All the Beatles classic hits in mono from 1966. Hard to resist.
Cover (Vg+) The front looks gorgeous and very flat with barely a thumbnail. The rear looks, on the whole, really nice with minimal ageing [particularly given the vintage]. Slightest evidence of handling and ageing just about apparent in a couple of spots - nothing unseemly. Minimal edge wear and firm openings. The spine is 90% intact with one stress crease in the middle [which is not problematic or worrisome].The cover still retains excellent rigidity. Note there is a light company stamp at the bottom of the rear - a piano shop.
Inner (Ex) Totally untarnished. No splits. Really nice.
