Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. Very nice heavy-set vinyl. We source the best quality - don't go risking any old copy from this period...we source the copies most likely to deliver best audio. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover. There's also a genuine '66 patents applied for inner too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Yesterday and Michelle - are the TEST tracks. Nearly all copies - even the good looking ones... play these with a touch of background. And this example is playing them very nice and clean with just a couple of isolated crackles [literally]. I detected just one single isolated minor tick in Michelle + Yesterday. At worst a few crackles in one isolated brief spot per side. Yellow Submarine & Rigby play really very well indeed. Highly recommended from every angle.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved and seems to have avoided most of the ageing that tends to afflict these 60's covers. One thing we do need to bring your attention to is that the cover has probably come into contact with damp at some point. There's a bit of a wave running through it - and a couple of thumbnails.  The rear seems to have escaped most of the ageing process. Flipbacks intact and secure. A number '9' written extreme top right corner. Edge wear is pretty limited. The spine is 99% intact - just a couple of slight stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Aged a bit. But no splits.
